      GERI received and award of best Research Station in the country during 1989 conferred on it by Central Board of Irrigation and Power, New Delhi

GERI officers have also received award in individual capacities for the contribution made by them. In recent past such awards were received  by following :

• DR.C.D.Thatte former Director GERI received CBIP Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Year Research Award for the year 1988

• DR. U.D.Datir former Director GERI received CBIP Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Year Research Award for the year 1991

• DR. U.D.Datir also received Shelter Award from Shelter Protection Council of India, Calcutta for the year 1995

Technical papers published by GERI officers in various seminar, conferences at National and International levels have also received awards from time to time.
