REGIONAL LABORATORIES

The Research and Development activities of the Institute are mainly taken up at Vadodara in Race Course and Gotri units to cater the need of laboratory testing work in the field of material testing. Soil Mechanics and other testing work. Regional Research Divisions are working at Surat, Gandhinagar and Rajkot. These Research Divisions are supported by Divisional laboratories testing at each of the Dist. Head Quarters. These divisions carry out the work of soil investigation, construction material and concrete mixes designs and investigations for the construction materials.

The regional laboratories at Gandhinagar is known as North Gujarat Research Division looking after North Gujarat Region having Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Mehsana, Palanpur, Himatnagar and Bhuj Districts (7 districts). Six district laboratories headed by Assistant Research Officers are working under this regional laboratory. These district laboratories cater needs of soils and materials testing of Govt., Semi Govt. and Private sector agencies of that particular district.

The regional laboratory at Surat is known as South Gujarat Research Division looking after South Gujarat Region consisting of Surat, Valsad, Bharuch and Panchmahal Districts. Three district laboratories headed by Assistant Research Officers  are working under this regional laboratory viz. Valsad, Bharuch and Godhra district laboratories.

The regional laboratory at a Rajkot known as Saurashtra Research Division looking after Saurashtra Region consisting of Rajkot, Jamnagar, Surendranagar, Junagadh, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts. Five district laboratories headed by Assistant Research Officers are working under this regional Division.
