DAM INSTRUMENTATION

In Gujarat State, out of 160 major & medium dams 25 dams are instrumented. Different types of instruments like Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrical are installed in earthen as well as masonry/concrete dams. Data generated through instrumentation are sent to GERI by field officers. They are analysed and interpreted.

Analysis and interpretation helps in monitoring the Behaviour of the structure under the loading & unloading conditions during construction and operation stages to decide about any remedial or strengthening measures necessary to be carried out.
